VACANCY NOTICE
Group Action for Social Order (GAFSO), a non governmental organization in the Eastern Province, invite you to be part of a team bringing positive impact on a project called "Strengthening Teachers Development and School Management System in child centred pedagogy and participatory school planning process in the Eastern Province" being implemented in partnership with UNICEF and the Provincial Department of Education.
Duration: 10 months
1. Project Manager - one Position
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
The PM is responsible for providing overall operational and programmatic support to all project activities.
Direct, supervise and coordinate the efforts of the Multilevel and School Planning consultants, district coordinators, Monitoring & Evaluation officer and other staff attached to project.
Coordinate training and pilot interventions at provincial, district and school levels for resource teams with the aim to empower them to play an active role in (1) quality school-based School Self-Assessment processes for better school planning and (2) quality multi-level teaching learning practices at target schools.
Conduct periodical review meeting with the project team in order to ensure implementation of planned activities on time and make sure the administrative, logistic, and finance needs of the program are met effectively and efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications/ Experience:
- A University degree in Social Sciences or a related technical field.
- Five years progressively responsible professional work experience in planning, implementation of development projects.
- Possess experience in finance, administration, and personnel management
2. Monitoring & Evaluation Officer - One Position
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the conduct of baseline and end line surveys, documentation of survey outcome and draft a final report on progress in multilevel pedagogy based on the findings in the baseline and end line surveys.
Support ISAs" visit to the schools to monitor application of ML pedagogy at schools and collate progress reports. Gather data against key indicators on M&E framework and draft project progress reports.
Assist in the documentation of multilevel piloting in the Eastern Province with good practice guidelines and lessons learnt for upscaling.
Minimum Qualifications/ Experience:
- A University degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, preferably statistics offered as a subject.
- At least five years progressively responsible professional experience in the design and implementation of M&E/MIS in development projects.
3. District Coordinator (04 positions in Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Kalmunai and Ampara)
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the Project Manager and ADE primary in implementation and monitoring of (1) quality school-based School Self-Assessment processes for better school planning and (2) quality multi-level teaching learning practices at target schools.
Coordinate rollout of training at zonal and school levels, application of multilevel pedagogy by teachers and teacher mentoring support through quality circles at school clusters.
Minimum Qualifications/ Experience:
- A University diploma/degree in Education, Social Sciences or a related technical field. Retired Directors of Education are also encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge in child centered teaching methodology, inclusive education or multi- level pedagogy with experience in facilitating training workshops
- Five years progressively responsible professional work experience in education, social or development work.
4. The Administrative Cum Programme Assistant (03 Positions for Ampara, Batticaloa and Trincomalee)
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing administrative, programmatic and clerical services in order to ensure effective and efficient operations.
Support in the implementation of project in the district liaising with Project team and responsible for the maintenance of district office.
Assist District Coordinators in project implementation tasks and assist in data management, programme and administration related tasks, maintain files, financial information and record keeping.
Minimum Qualifications/ Experience:
- Good pass in the GCE (A/L) examinations.
- 2-3 years" work experience in office administration and bookkeeping procedures
- Computer skills including the ability to operate spreadsheet and word processing programs
Language Proficiency for all positions:
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, Tamil and/or in Sinhala is required.
